CPM stands for Cost Per Mile, and refers to how much you will get per those 1000 page views. Obviously, as for PPC, the more page views your site gets the better.

3) Affiliate Marketing

The way this works is that certain merchant, Amazon is a well-known one, will allow you to sell their products for a commission. Say that your website is about classic movies and you’ve just reviewed the movie “Citizen Kane.” You can then go to Amazon, or other Affiliate websites, and get a link that allows people to purchase that movie. 4) Direct Banner Advertising

This is probably one of the most profitable ways of exploiting your website. Placing your own banners allows you to decide how much to charge, which means you don’t have to work for commission or share the profits. This, however, comes at a price as you have to have a large audience to attract reputable advertisers, and you need to manage the banners and sales.

5) Premium Content

If possible, you want to try and entice your viewers with premium content and make them pay to view it. This may be a tough sell, but it is well worth it should you gain a following willing to pay.

There are sites out there that are always looking for customer information. They will pay you to put up a survey/poll on your website, then give you commission based on how many “clicks” it gets.

Probably the most hated form of advertising out there be careful with this. If you’re just trying to make as much money as possible from your website, then this is a good way. However, if you want to build up a loyal fan base, avoid these like the plague.

9) In-text Advertising

The way this works is that advertisers will place links within your text. Should a viewer roll over that link, the ad will pop up. If the viewer then clicks on the ad, you get paid.

This might be something of a last resort, but it’s a good way to get a large amount of cash in a fast way. Be warned that your website’s worth is dependent on its monthly revenue and what the buyer thinks can be done with the site.
